Once upon a time Bol was a settlement of wine-growers, fishermen and sailmen, and today it is primarily a tourist settlement. People are direct and original. This popular Brac settlement has a developed network of modern hotels and diverse accommodation in private houses, apartments and camps.

Little has changed in terms of economy since the Croatians arrived to the island until the 15th century, when Boljani descended to the coast. It was only then that the fishing started and in general people become more sea oriented.
In addition, agriculture was expanding at the account of cattle-breeding. Agriculture, sailing and fishing became the main sources of existence. It was only at the beginning of the 20th century, especially its second half, that the traditional occupations were abandoned and replaced by tourism.

Zlatni Rat (Golden Cape) is a pebble beach on a promontory near Bol, on southern coast of island of Brač, Croatia. The shape of the beach shifts with changes in tide, currents and wind. Reliable afternoon westerly wind Maestral together with crystal clear if somewhat cool water make the beach a destination for windsurfers. [1]
Westmost edge of the beach and several coves to the west of the main beach are clothing-optional. [2]
The beach is bordered by a pine tree grove in which one can find remnants of a Roman villa rustica, including a swimming pool.
